The theme focuses on dragons, mythical beasts, the Middle Ages, fairy tales, and fantasy, medieval fairs and feasts, kings, queens, princes, princesses, knights, castles, magical stories, wizards, and wishing wells and provides libraries with the opportunity to explore the entire scope of imagination and books.

Kellog Web SiteAward-winning children's book creator and artist Steven Kellogg has completed the 2005 artwork.

Steven Kellogg has been creating picture books since he was a boy. Inspired by the illustrations of N. C. Wyeth and Beatrix Potter he made up and illustrated stories for his sisters. He continued to write and draw throughout his growing up years, and, soon after college, discovered that he could make a living doing this, his favorite thing. Steven has now written or illustrated close to one hundred books, many of them award winning. He maintains a home and studio in the village Essex on Lake Champlain in New York. Steven writes and illustrates picture books, including The Day Jimmy's Boa Ate the Wash, A Rose for Pinkerton, Clorinda, and more!

Seattle artist Doug Keith http://members.aol.com/atozdk/ has completed the artwork for the YA poster. Keith has illustrated "The Errant Knight", "The Whoosh of Gadoosh", and other picture books. Doug Keith's ability to work in a variety of styles and media has attracted clients such as Sports Illustrated, the Seattle Times, the Seattle Mariners, the Goodwill Games, local TV stations, restaurants and advertising agencies. Along the way, Keith has won an Emmy award for television graphics (KIRO-TV), a Society of Newspaper Design award (the Seattle Times), and national recognition for his innovative designs.

YA Manual:

Maria Levetzow, Young Adult Librarian at Bettendorf Public Library (IA) and Carin Barwick, Library Media Specialist in Geneseo, NY, co-authored the teen manual. In addition to material to help librarians plan and support a teen summer reading program, the manual provides a number of ideas for programs and activities. The manual is accompanied by a variety of clip art images in various graphic formats. The Teen Manual and graphics has been added to the CD for 2005.
