I checked out this site - and though some of the interepretations may have some validity, the reference to "Old Mother Hubbard" is way off - the allusions are simply not so. Sarah Catherine Martin (1768-1826) wrote the tale in 1804, after being challenged by her future brother-in-law to run off and write "one of your stupid little rhymes."
She did - and her work lives to this day!
