Idea: Decorate with great old Mother Goose Illustrations

Viewers to this site frequently ask about pictures to decorate nurseries or classrooms. With today's scanning capabilities you can scan great old illustrations. You'll find some of the old books listed here under the "Mother Goose Day: May 1" link. Many libraries have these books, or others, or can obtain them through Inter-Library-Loan. Please be sure you respect copyrights - anything previous to 1925 is now in public domain and can be used. If you don't have a scanner, or a friend with one, take the book to a local quick-printer where you can get scans at reasonable prices. And please, even if you own the book - retain it's integrity, as well as it's value, by not tearing out pages - get them scanned. You can decorate with some wonderful illustrations this way. Many are by great artists - so you can expose your children to good art, while having the Mother Goose motif to look at. Have fun.
