My assumption is that it is a commoner's mockery of royalty. A cat, in the presence of a queeen, had rather chase mice than bow to a pompous potentate. Is that the idea? This is for my sermon Sunday on "Blindness to being in God's Presence". Any assistance would be much appreciated.
