According to the Annotated Mother Goose, this rhyme has 7 verses. It is said to have been a favorite of Longfellow's, has long been ascribed to Robert southey, but there is no evidence to associate him with it. There is a brief American version that goes:
Girls are dandy,
Made of candy--
That's what little girls are made of.
Boys are rottem,
Made of cotton--
That's what little boys are made of.
