There is a distinction between Mother Goose Rhymes (part of the Nursery Rhyme category) and Fairy Tales. However, the first use of a similar term to Mother Goose was in "Contes de ma Mere l'Oye" ("Tales of my Mother the Goose")by Charles Perrault in 1697. This contained several tales, among them "The Sleeping Beauty" and "Cinderella." Contemporary usage would not consider these in the category of Mother Goose. Followups:Post a followup here:
